The Trump administration’s high-profile shakeup of the Social Security Administration has created a great deal of anxiety for retirees - and people getting close to retirement - about accessing benefits and transacting business with the agency.

But I hope you will be able to point out that it is the workers who pay not only for their benefits but also for the costs of administering the program. This means that whatever "savings" DOGE is creating have nothing to do with the federal deficit. They are essentially stealing the workers money. I would suggest the workers sue to stop them and restore the money they have "saved" so that SS can continue to function and provide the services necessary to carry out their mission of providing retirement insurance to the workers who paid for it, and the access that makes that possible for all of them to collect the benefits they paid for.
